I put this together the other day and am quite happy with it! I can see myself wearing all of those pieces and I can actually see myself making lots of versions of them!

ANORAK--The anorak that I make with Burda 7691 will serve as my overcoat. It will fit over anything because of those low armholes. I used to have this in my wardrobe. Yes, USED TO. I was going to donate them, when I got a brilliant idea! 

Beautiful vibrant colors always inspire me! So I decided to put them all in a jar to keep at my desk for inspiration. 

The question was . . . do I layer them in? Or do I mix them up?

All that time and I only got around to making it now! I used a knit that is in a beautiful shade of red!

What is great about this set is that when I want to, I can switch out the matching tank for a contrasting tank. I liked it so much that I decided to make one for myself. I started with vintage 70s Simplicity 9607:



I replaced the collar inset with a rectangle. The inset needed to be a little longer, so I lengthened it by 2 inches. I was going to use OOP Simplicity 2655 to make them.



When it came time to actually cut it out, the pockets changed my mind. I didn't want the bulk of pockets. I still did make wide legged pants, but I used Butterick 3528, a vintage pattern from the 70s--waistband, faux fly front that I added, and no pockets. Here are my pants:

The wool started off as a regular piece of wool, but after taking it through the wash and dry cycle, it turned into wool with stretch in it. I believe it's called boiled wool. It is perfect for the Vogue 1151 dress.

What I did find myself wearing over and over again is this inexpensive Nike top! I love the pale blue color, not to mention that great kangaroo pocket in the front! It's no wonder that I am always reaching for that top to walk my little pooch in!

I love the shaped hemline and have been wanting a tunic like this for a while. I didn't see any in RTW, so I pulled fabric from my stash, got the McCalls Stitch and Sew pattern, and made my own. 

This was easy to sew. It  only took around a couple of hours!





I'm petite so I shortened it. I sewed one a few weeks ago, but tossed it because the print was too wild and the colors were too bright for my taste. When I wore that one, I felt like a walking neon sign. This time, I made the unbuttoned jacket from McCalls 5425.





I used a super bright stash fabric because this was supposed to only be a muslin.

I finished my empire jeweled top.  I morphed the empire bodice from Butterick 5353 with the fitted bottom from OOP McCalls 8190, a Laundry by Shelli Segal  dress pattern.







I embellished the round yoke with clear jewel stones shaped like squares.  It turned out exactly as I pictured it in my head--I love this! Here it is with the 50 tuck top that I also made:
